NEWS / CBP Officers Arrest Wanted Florida Man at Rainbow Bridge


Niagara Falls, N.Y. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the apprehension and arrest of a 37 year old Florida man wanted on a felony count of aggravated assault with a weapon.

Arrested at Rainbow Bridge on May 19 was Owens Nepaul, a United States citizen from Hollywood, Florida. Record checks conducted on Nepaul revealed that there was an active warrant of arrest for him out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition. The warrant was issued for Nepaul by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for a felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm. An interview with the subject revealed that this was his first entry back into the United States after a six month stay in Jamaica and Canada.

Nepaul was arrested by CBP officers and turned over to the custody of the Niagara Falls Police Department pending extradition to Florida.
