FAQ / Can I send an unattached, completed acknowledgment certificate to a title company to correct an error?


A Notary must never give or mail a signed and sealed notarial certificate to another person and trust that person to attach it to a particular document. This would be an all but indefensible action in a civil court of law should the certificate be fraudulently or mistakenly attached to another document.
