Santa Teresa, N.M. – U.S. Border Patrol agents in Santa Teresa arrested a man with an extensive criminal background who was attempting to enter illegally near the Santa Teresa, New Mexico Port of Entry.

On Aug 6, 2010, agents assigned to the Santa Teresa station were patrolling near the Santa Teresa, N.M., Port of Entry, when they encountered 57-year old Rogelio Saldana-Hernandez making an illegal entry into the United States. Saldana-Hernandez was arrested and taken to the Border Patrol Processing Center. Agents discovered that Saldana-Hernandez has an extensive criminal history, including a 1979 arrest and conviction for manslaughter with the use of a firearm.
