NEWS / Naco CBP Officers Seize Marijuana from Phoenix Womans Car


Naco, Ariz. —U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a drug-smuggling attempt when they seized more than 70 pounds of marijuana concealed in a vehicle being driven by a Phoenix woman.

On September 15 at a about 9:30 p.m. CBP officers were screening travelers when they became suspicious of a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by a 19-year-old Phoenix woman. CBP officers searched the woman’s vehicle and discovered that the rocker-panels, the doors, and the rear bumper were loaded with packages of marijuana.


More than 70 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $123,000.


CBP officers seized the vehicle and the marijuana. The Phoenix woman was held for questioning
