NEWS / IRS agents to watch OnlyFans content to determine if income qualifies for “No Tax on Tips” Deduction

Federal agents of the United States Internal Revenue Service will be required to watch erotic OnlyFans content to make a determination as to whether any income made from such content could qualify to be exempt from income tax under the new “No Tax on Tips” rule. The new tax law passed with the backing of President Donald Trump exempts up to $25,000 of “qualified” tip income from tax.

Under the US budget law, which President Trump called the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” the tip income exemption will apply to tax years 2025 thru 2028.

According to Newsweek, IRS agents may now be required to review OnlyFans to determine if it constitutes pornography, as income made from such content is included in a caveat excluding it from the “No Tax on Tips” exemption.

While OnlyFans is best known for its erotic content, the platform is also used for other lifestyle-related material, such as cooking and exercise.

A list of eligible professions was published in September. It included “digital content creators” and “entertainers and performers”, which would, at least in theory, apply to OnlyFans creators.

According to Forbes, OnlyFans had 4.6 million creator accounts and 377 million fan accounts in 2024. A total of $7.2 billion was spent by fans on the platform that same year.
