NEWS / Death certificate of wrestler Hulk Hogan reveals “heart attack” as cause of death


The death certificate of famed but controversial US wrestler Hulk Hogan indicates that the fighter passed away because of a heart attack. TMZ was able to obtain a certified copy of Hogan’s death certificate, issued by the State of Florida, confirming the 71-year-old star’s passing at the Morton Plant hospital in Clearwater, Florida, on July 24.

TMZ went so far as to publish the certified copy of Hulk Hogan’s death certificate, with some personal information redacted. The vital record lists Hogan’s occupation as “professional wrestler, entertainment,” and indicates that he lived in Clearwater, Florida, United States. Finally, it specifies that he was cremated at the Bay Area Crematory.

Hulk Hogan was rushed to Morton Plant Hospital July 24, after experiencing a heart attack at his home on Clearwater Beach. He then passed away at the hospital. According to the wrestler’s medical records, Hogan was also suffering from atrial fibrillation and had been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a form of cancer.

Hulk Hogan was born Terry Gene Bollea, which remained his official name and is listed on his death certificate.
