NEWS / CBP Officers Apprehend 10 for ID Theft at Nogales Port of Entry

Nogales, Ariz. – Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Nogales ports of entry were kept on their toes on Monday as they apprehended ten people trying to enter the United States illegally. The violators attempted to use documents that did not correspond to them to make entry and one even went as far as trying to run past officers.

Just after 2 p.m. CBP officers at the DeConcini port of entry were challenged by a 23- year-old Mexican national who attempted to run past the officers to avoid inspection. The man did not get far as he was apprehended by officers. He was taken into custody for immigration processing.

The attempts of illegal entries continued as men and women of various ages attempted to enter the United States by presenting documents that did not correspond to them. All of the violators were Mexican nationals. They were processed as immigration violators and either returned to Mexico after being barred from entering the United States or are being held in custody for possible prosecution on identity theft charges.
