NEWS / Toledo Man Indicted for Sex Trafficking a Minor

Mark A. Fetter was indicted on charges of sex trafficking of a minor and obstruction of a sex trafficking investigation, Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, announced today.

Fetter, 28, resides at various locations in Toledo, Ohio.

The indictment alleges that beginning on or about August 14, 2010, Fetter recruited, enticed, harbored, and transported a juvenile, knowing that by means of force, fraud, and coercion, the juvenile was caused to engage in a commercial sex act, and that from that date to the date of return of the indictment, Fetter obstructed and attempted to obstruct an investigation into the sex trafficking of the juvenile. The charges against Fetter carry 15 years mandatory maximum up to life in prison, on sex trafficking of a minor, and maximum 20 years on obstruction of a sex trafficking investigation.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney James V. Moroney, following an investigation by the Toledo Resident Agency of the Cleveland FBI, the Northwest Ohio Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Toledo Police Department, Vice/Narcotics Unit.

An indictment is only is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
