NEWS / Foot Prints Lead Agents to Stash of Marijuana

La Grulla, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande City station seized more than 400 pounds of marijuana Thursday near La Grulla.

Late Thursday evening, agents patrolling the area of the Rio Grande noticed fresh foot prints from a group of people leading north from the river into dense brush. Border Patrol agents tracked the foot sign with the help of additional agents on all terrain vehicles.

The foot sign led to a shed that is adjacent to an abandoned house within the community of La Grulla. Out in the open were several bundles of marijuana. Agents seized a total of 48 bricks of marijuana with a street value of $300,000.

The marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement.
