NEWS / U.S. Border Patrol Agents Arrest Illegal Alien with Homicide Warrant in Northern San Diego County

Oceanside, Calif. — Early Wednesday morning, U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien with an active homicide warrant out of Dallas, Texas.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped a gray 1991 Honda Accord on State Route 76 in Oceanside. Agents questioned the driver and three passengers and determined that one of the passengers, a 37-year-old male Mexican national, was in the country illegally. Agents transported the subject to a local Border Patrol station for processing where they discovered the man had an active homicide warrant issued by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect’s identity was confirmed through fingerprint verification, and he was subsequently turned over to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department pending extradition to Dallas.

The U.S. Border Patrol maintains strong collaborative partnerships with other law enforcement agencies to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in border communities. To report suspicious activity to the U.S. Border Patrol, contact San Diego Sector at (619) 498-9900.
