NEWS / South Korean police arrest woman who stalked and gave marriage certificate to BTS singer V

A South Korean woman got arrested after following Kim Taehyung, one of the singers of international K-pop sensation BTS, better known by his stage name V, and presenting him with a marriage certificate.

The woman, who is in her 20s, reported waited for V outside his house and followed him inside when he drove his car into his parking lot. She then followed him to the elevator where she attempted to engage in a conversation with the superstar and present him with a marriage certificate.

According to Naver News, police in the upscale Gangnam District were dispatched to the area after receiving a call from the building’s security guard. The police were then able to identify the woman via CCTV footage. They were also able to use the personal information listed on the marriage certificate to track the woman, who has had a history of stalking V.

The woman has now been prohibited by police from approaching V in the future and must maintain a distance of at least 100 meters (about 328 feet) from the singer at all times. The singer went onto social media to assure concerned fans of his safety.
