NEWS / New York CBP Officers Arrest 2 Wanted Individuals


Niagara Falls, N.Y. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Buffalo Field Office, announced the apprehension of two United States citizens, in unrelated circumstances, wanted on active felony warrants. The wanted individuals were encountered at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and the Massena port of entry in Massena, N.Y. on September 29.


Arrested at Rainbow Bridge was Justin Lee Gillespie, a 20-year-old United States citizen from St. Lucie, Fla. Record checks conducted on Gillespie revealed that there was an active warrant of arrest for Gillespie out of St. Lucie, Fla. CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition. A warrant was issued for Gillespie by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office for one count of sexual battery-person 12 years of age or older. Gillespie was arrested by CBP officers and turned over to the custody of the Niagara Falls Police Department pending extradition to Florida.


Arrested at the Massena port of entry was Linda Teeter, a 54-year-old United States citizen from Wappapello, Mo. Checks on Teeter were positive for an active warrant in the State of Missouri for felony charges of fraud and bad checks. Teeter was arrested by CBP officers and turned over to the custody of New York State Police pending extradition to Missouri.


“Arresting fugitives from justice is an essential element in our border security effort throughout the entire northern New York State region,” said James T. Engleman, CBP director of Field Operations for the Buffalo Field Office.
