American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has obtained a marriage license indicating that she intends to tie the knot with her boyfriend, boat captain Jeremy Dufrene. This information was reported by PEOPLE, who obtained confirmation from the Clerk of Court of Lafourche Parish, Louisiana.

According to the report, the marriage license was issued on September 23. Lana Del Rey and Jeremy Dufrene have 30 days from the marriage license issue date to officiate their marriage, after which the couple would be able to obtain a marriage certificate.

Based on Lana Del Rey’s Facebook profile, the singer has known Dufrene since 2019, after taking a one of his Louisiana alligator and wildlife tours. While it is unclear exactly how long Del Rey and Dufrene have been dating, in May 2024, the singer tagged Dufrene in an Instagram post, referring to him as her “guy”. Del Rey also went public with her relationship on September 7, when she and Dufrene attended the wedding of model Karen Elson and Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster in New York City.

Dufrene, a former chemical plant worker, currently works as a boat captain with Arthur’s Airboat Tours, guiding tourists through Louisiana’s swamps and marshes, according to the company’s website.

Del Rey’s music has been described as alt-pop and baroque pop. A native of New York, she achieved viral success with her 2011 single “Video Games” before going on to release the commercially and critically successful album Born to Die in 2012, featuring the sleeper hit “Summertime Sadness”. As she became a worldwide phenomenon, she released follow-up albums Ultraviolence in 2014, Honeymoon in 2015, and Lust for Life in 2017, which included influences from dream pop, trip hop, folk, and desert rock.

Del Rey’s most recent album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd was released in 2023 and includes gospel, hip hop, trap, electro-jazz, and soul influences. She has recorded songs for the movies The Great Gatsby (2013), Maleficent (2014), and Big Eyes (2014) and has collaborated with Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and Miley Cyrus. Apart from her romance with Jeremy Dufrene, not much is known about her personal life.
