The United States Marshals Service issued the following statement:

On September 1, 2011, suspected bank robber Daniel Ryan Schoppe, 23, was arrested at the Motel 6, near Ilif Road NW and Coors Boulevard NW in northwest Albuquerque.

Schoppe was wanted by the United States Marshals Service in Albuquerque for an outstanding warrant for a violation of his terms of probation. Schoppe was also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the Aug. 17 robbery of Wells Fargo bank, 3401 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque.

The Marshals Service and FBI were working off a tip after someone recognized him in the surveillance footage of the Aug. 17 robbery.

The Marshals Service in Albuquerque along with the Albuquerque Police Department canvassed hotels across the city and the Marshals Service located Schoppe at the Motel 6.
