NEWS / Actress Michelle Trachtenberg’s cause of death “undetermined”-death certificate

The death certificate of 39-year-old American actress Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her roles in “Gossip Girl”, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, and “Eurotrip”, lists “undetermined” as the cause of her death. The New York City medical examiner’s office printed this cause of death as they did not perform an autopsy on the late star’s body, thus honoring a request from her family, New York Post reports.

The medical examiner did conduct an external examination of the actress's body, but this was insufficient to determine her cause of death.

Trachtenberg was found unresponsive and lying face up in her apartment in Midtown Manhattan by her mother around 8 am on Wednesday, February 26. She was later pronounced dead by EMS. She had last been seen alive by her mother the night before, just 10 hours prior.

According to New York Post sources, the actress underwent a liver transplant shortly before her death. Speculation emerged on the possibility of her body rejecting the liver transplant, thus resulting in her death.
