FAQ / My fiance (fiancee) came to the United States on a K-1 Fiance (e) visa. Can he/she legally work here?

The K-1 visa allows your fiancé (fiancée) to enter the United States one time only. If your fiancé (fiancée) leaves the United States after entering on a K-1 visa, he/she can not re-enter on the same visa. After you and your fiancé (fiancée) get married and when or after he/she applies for Adjustment of Status, she can apply for Advance Parole, a travel document that allows your husband / wife to re-enter U.S. before adjudication of his/her Adjustment of Status Application.
