NEWS / Brittany Hensel not listed as witness on conjoined twin sister’s marriage certificate

Conjoined twin Abby Hensel did not list her sister Brittany as a witness on her marriage certificate issued by Ramsey County, Minnesota. The marriage certificate was issued in 2021, but tabloid TMZ only obtained it last week.

Abby and Brittany Hensel made headlines in the 2000s as the conjoined twins, who partially share a body with each other, were coming of age. The marriage certificate reveals that Abby married Joshua Bowling on November 13, 2021, in Delano, MN, which is in Wright County, although the certificate ultimately got issued by Ramsey County as both Abby and Joshua had been residents of the county. The certificate confirms that Abby took on Joshua’s last name and is now known under the name of Abigail Lauren Bowling.

The certificate also notably omits any mention of Brittany as a witness. Abby’s other sister Morgan Hensel is listed, as is a certain Cosmo Naut, possibly a family pet. Reverend Sid A. Veenstra officiated the nuptials.

TMZ’s release of the marriage certificate stirred social media, with the twins responding negatively to the renewed attention. It is worth noting that per Minnesota law, marriage records are stored at the county level and are public records.
