NEWS / Child Travel Consent Keeps Vacation Plans on Track

The holidays are a hectic time for travel. Due to increasing concern of the welfare of children many countries require documentation that establishes the relationship of the adult traveling with the child and permission of the parent or legal guardian for the child to travel.

A child travel consent form is used to when traveling with minor children. Whether on trips with organizations, family members, or one parent, a travel consent form is required where a minor child under the age of 18 is traveling internationally without both parents present. It also avoids hassles boarding airplanes, seeking medical treatment for the children in your care, crossing international borders, and is especially useful in divorce/separation situations.

At a time of year when non-custodial parents are often granted visitation, vacations without both parents present are common. Often the children are traveling alone, or with a temporary guardian. Most airlines recommend that all adults traveling with minor children hold a travel consent letter for domestic as well as international trips.
