NEWS / CBP Arrests Dominican with Fraudulent Permanent Resident Card

Male Possessed Card Belonging to Female

San Juan, Puerto Rico – A Dominican alien appeared today before U.S. District Court Judge Camille Vélez-Rive facing charges of using fraudulent documents as evidence of authorized stay, by using a Permanent Resident Card belonging to another person.

Jose Manuel Victorio-Ramos, a Dominican Republic Citizen, presented a U.S. Permanent Resident Card and a Pennsylvania Driver’s license to U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforcement officers when pre-boarding a Jet Blue Airlines flight bound to New York, at the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.

CBP enforcement officers referred Mr. Victorio-Ramos to closer examination because the resident card did not appear to be genuine.

A query of the immigration database revealed that the immigration number contained in the U.S. Permanent Resident Card pertains to a female subject from a different nationality. Mr. Victorio-Ramos also had a Social Security Card in his possession.

CBP officers presented the case to the on-duty attorney of the Immigration Unit of the United States Attorney’s Office in San Juan, who accepted the case for prosecution.
